The National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) Governance Pilots, co-led by directors Tim Johnson and Jonathan Duran, aim to demonstrate practical models for nationwide spatial data infrastructure coordination. These pilots, one pilot focused on protecting public lands and trails, in cooperation with OpenStreetMap and others, and the second pilot with an emphasis on underground infrastructure data are intended to test scalable frameworks for future NSDI governance.
